“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,…” (1 Peter 1:3,4 KJV).
Perhaps we can search the Scriptures to resolve an apparent contradiction, thereby perfecting that which is lacking in superficial readers….
Having an earthly kingdom in mind, the LORD God created and put Adam on the Earth: “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth” (Genesis 1:26-28). “Dominion” is a governmental term; here, it relates to Adam and Eve reigning on Earth.
“Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:…” (Matthew 25:34). See again how the issue of earthly government reaches back to “the foundation of the world” or Adam’s creation. Compare this to Acts 3:21: “Whom [Jesus Christ] the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.” This is prophecy, encompassing God’s purpose and plan for mankind and Earth. In other words, the earthly kingdom that was delayed because of Adam’s sin is finally brought in thousands of years later, with Israel inheriting the earthly kingdom originally promised to Adam.
So, where and how does Israel and Heaven enter into the picture? Let us see….
