The Spiritual Dexterity of Our Physical Posterity #56

Wednesday, July 15, 2026

“Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word” (Psalm 119:9 KJV).

If our physical posterity could augment its spiritual dexterity, exactly what would that entail?

Satan (then known as “Lucifer,” “the light-bearer”) was originally God’s song-leader in creation, endowed with exceptional wisdom and beauty for the purpose of drawing attention to the Creator God and thereby encouraging worship of that Creator God. Having fallen in love with himself, Lucifer became proud and self-willed, which transformed him into “Satan” (Hebrew for “adversary”): “Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty…. Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth;…. Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee. By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire. Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee” (Ezekiel 28:12,14-17).

Lucifer’s five-point (“I will… I will… I will… I will… I will…”) plan to rebel against the Creator God was as follows: “How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High” (Isaiah 14:12-14). Pride is thus known as “the condemnation of the devil” (1 Timothy 3:6).

Satan chose to use his intellectual ability in a nefarious way, conniving as to how to obtain for himself the praise and worship the Creator God alone deserved. Of course, being far wiser, the Creator God formulated a secret program He kept hidden in Himself. That mystery would be the means whereby Satan would be outwitted and outdone….

The Worship of the Calf #8

Tuesday, October 5, 2021

And he received them at their hand, and fashioned it with a graving tool, after he had made it a molten calf: and they said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt (Exodus 32:4 KJV).

Why is calf-worship so prevalent in Holy Scripture?

Read Ezekiel chapter 28: “[13] Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created. [14] Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. [15] Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.” Here was Lucifer’s transformation into Satan.

Concerning cherubim, read these other Ezekiel passages. “And every one had four faces: the first face was the face of a cherub, and the second face was the face of a man, and the third the face of a lion, and the fourth the face of an eagle” (10:14). “As for the likeness of their faces, they four had the face of a man, and the face of a lion, on the right side: and they four had the face of an ox on the left side; they four also had the face of an eagle” (1:10). A cherub, including Satan, has four faces—with one face resembling that of an ox/calf (cf. Revelation 4:7). Therefore, the LORD God addressed Satan with: “Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life” (Genesis 3:14). Satan is a snake in character (sneaky, deceptive), but his facial features are that of an ox/calf.

To wit, calf-worship is literally nothing more than Satan-worship!

What is God Doing? #17

Monday, January 21, 2019

“Canst thou by searching find out God? canst thou find out the Almighty unto perfection? It is as high as heaven; what canst thou do? deeper than hell; what canst thou know? The measure thereof is longer than the earth, and broader than the sea” (Job 11:7-9 KJV).

What exactly is God doing? Can we say? Or, must we remain clueless?

Long ago, God’s chief spirit creature—a “cherub” named “Lucifer”—said in his heart, “I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High” (Isaiah 14:12-15). We also see him in Ezekiel 28:11-19, the attractive creature who “wast perfect in [his] ways from the day that he [wast] created, till iniquity was found in [him]” (verse 15). He was “full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty” (verse 12). Verse 17 says Lucifer’s heart “was lifted up because of [his] beauty.”

Lucifer decides to attempt to usurp God’s throne. Thus, he led a rebellion in Heaven, recruiting numerous angelic beings to oppose the Creator God. Lucifer became “Satan” (adversary—Luke 10:18), he and his angelic cohorts were evicted from Heaven, and we thus read of “the devil and his angels” (Matthew 25:41). In Genesis chapter 3, Satan—the “serpent,” a calculating character—entices Adam and Eve (our parents) to join him in his revolt against the Creator God. Adam, the head of humanity, was not deceived: he intentionally followed his wife, Eve, in following Satan (1 Timothy 2:14). Thus, Earth was corrupted with sin—cursed with thorns, thistles, childbirth pain, sickness, and ultimate death (Genesis 3:16-19).

Romans chapter 8 comments: “[20] For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope, [21] Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. [22] For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now….” Creation awaits the day of its deliverance from evil….

The Mischievous Minister of Music #7

Friday, February 2, 2018

“Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created (Ezekiel 28:13 KJV).

Who is this musician, and how did he destroy his ministry?

According to Ezekiel 1:4-28 (especially verses 5-10), Ezekiel 10:1-22 (particularly verses 9-19), and Revelation 4:1-11 (especially verses 6-9), four cherubim currently surround God’s throne. While often confused with angels, cherubim are technically dissimilar. Cherubim are also spirit creatures, true, but, unlike angels, they have wings and four faces—lion, ox/calf, man, and eagle. (Strange indeed!)

The four cherubim around God’s throne today were initially five. Recall the “anointed cherub that covereth [God’s throne]” (Ezekiel 28:14—the verse immediately after today’s Scripture). The fifth cherub was Lucifer, whom we now know as Satan. It was Lucifer whose outstretched wings formed a canopy above to reflect and refract/bend God’s radiating glory. Lucifer, remember, was a “living music box;” he encouraged singing. This all directed praise and worship to the Lord Jesus Christ (the Creator). Once created, the angelic races sang as they watched the Lord Jesus continue working during the Creation Week. Lucifer led this music and singing too.

Notice Job chapter 38: “[1] Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said, [2] Who is this that darkeneth counsel by words without knowledge? [3] Gird up now thy loins like a man; for I will demand of thee, and answer thou me. [4] Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding. [5] Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it? [6] Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof; [7] When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?(Verse 7, doubtless, is the angelic host.)

Nevertheless, as stated earlier, Lucifer was ungrateful to his Creator. Rather than leading creation in worshipping the Creator in song, Lucifer wanted to lead creation….
