If our physical posterity could augment its spiritual dexterity, exactly what would that entail?

Dear friend, mark it well: Israel is God’s sign people. Whether the Abrahamic Covenant and its sign of physical circumcision, or the Old/Mosaic Covenant and its sign of Sabbath-Day keeping, or the Davidic Covenant and its sign of water baptism, or the Palestinian Covenant and its sign of Israel’s regathering into the Promised Land, or the New Covenant and its sign of the outpouring of the Holy Ghost and spiritual gifts, all these irrefutably prove Israel is God’s literal, physical, visible, earthly people with literal, physical, visible, earthly works. In the Bible, Israel and signs are absolutely inseparable.

Now, observe carefully! Here is where Christendom, our denominations, our churches went wrong. They want the same evidence (tokens or proofs) of God’s working with them, for they think what He was doing (and will do) with Israel is what He is still doing with them/us. It is Bible ignorance and false assumptions, multiplied over the course of 20 centuries. “What God did then, He still does now. He never changes.” Our denominational and theological systems were founded on this mentality of, “I want to be like Israel,” or “I am Israel.” They suppose there is spirituality in copying Israel’s program, and, where they cannot copy it, they just pretend to follow it, which produces hypocrisy.

What intensifies the silliness is when those who believe we have not replaced Israel and believe we are not Israel, become the very people who steal Israel’s covenants and Israel’s signs and apply them to themselves! No wonder people are confused, having receiving such mixed messages; no wonder they are frustrated, blending that which God never intended to be mixed; no wonder they struggle with doubts (unbelief). Of course, God is then blamed for this mess, people are turned away from the Scriptures altogether, and Satan is thoroughly delighted. How fortunate I was that I spent just the first 10 years of my Christian life in this cesspool of spiritual sewage before I escaped it. Others remain there for several decades, quite satisfied with their traditions of men (!).

Let us get back to “rightly dividing the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15)….

If our physical posterity could augment its spiritual dexterity, exactly what would that entail?

Genesis 12:1-3 states how the Abrahamic Covenant encompasses three main issues: (1) a land, (2) a nation, and (3) a blessing to the world. The LORD God has deeded real-estate to the nation Israel—the land of Canaan, or the land of Palestine (cf. Exodus 15:14,15). Such is the Palestinian Covenant: “And I will give unto thee [Abraham], and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God” (Genesis 17:8; cf. Genesis 12:7; Genesis 13:14-18; Genesis 15:7-21). This is the very “Promised Land” to which Israel was headed upon leaving Egypt under Moses’ leadership.

The Law (Old Covenant) that Israel insisted on having meant the punishment of exile (removal) from that Promised Land in the event of disobedience—the fifth course of judgment or chastisement (Leviticus 26:27-46; Deuteronomy 28:62-64). Such a curse was finally meted out when Assyrian armies took the 10 (northern) tribes of idolatrous Israel captive to Assyria in 2 Kings chapter 17, and the Babylonian troops took the two (southern) tribes of idolatrous Judah prisoner to Babylon in 2 Kings chapter 25. However, the LORD swore He would bring all 12 tribes back to the land of Canaan in the end times (for instance, see Psalm 37:3,11,29,34; Isaiah 60:21; Jeremiah 3:18; Jeremiah 7:7; Jeremiah 16:15; Jeremiah 23:3,8; Jeremiah 30:3,10; Jeremiah 31:16,17; Jeremiah 32:37; Jeremiah 46:27; Ezekiel 11:17; Ezekiel 20:33-36,41,42; Ezekiel 34:12,13; Ezekiel 36:19,20,24,28; Ezekiel 37:12,14,21,22,25; Ezekiel 39:28).

At Christ’s Second Coming, Israel’s re-gathering into the land is the sign of the Palestinian Covenant: “And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other” (Matthew 24:30,31). For Israel to be everything God intended her to be in the Earth, one final covenant and one last attendant “sign” are required….

If our physical posterity could augment its spiritual dexterity, exactly what would that entail?

When JEHOVAH God brought Israel out of Egyptian slavery, He was thinking of His earthly kingdom headquartered in the Promised Land. Read this excerpt from the Song of Moses, Exodus chapter 15: “Thou shalt bring them in, and plant them in the mountain [kingdom] of thine inheritance, in the place, O LORD, which thou hast made for thee to dwell in, in the Sanctuary, O Lord, which thy hands have established. The LORD shall reign for ever and ever” (verses 17,18). Skip over to chapter 19, verses 5 and 6: “Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine: And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.”

During Jesus’ earthly ministry, the Gospel of the Kingdom was preached with accompanying miracles of casting out devils and healing the sick (reminiscent of Moses’ snake-handling and leprosy-healing in Exodus chapter 4!). “And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people. And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatick [insane], and those that had the palsy [paralytics]; and he healed them” (Matthew 4:23,24; cf. Luke 6:17-19). “And as ye [12 Apostles] go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give” (Matthew 10:7,8). “And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach, And to have power to heal sicknesses, and to cast out devils:…” (Mark 3:14,15).

Observe again how these miracles are twice designated as “signs” in Mark 16:15-20, Mark’s conclusion bringing us into early Acts….

Not Thy Righteousness, But Their Wickedness #11

“Not for thy righteousness, or for the uprightness of thine heart, dost thou go to possess their land: but for the wickedness of these nations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee, and that he may perform the word which the LORD sware unto thy fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob” (Deuteronomy 9:5 KJV).

May we have the proper perspective of wickedness versus righteousness….

Read chapter 64 of Isaiah in its entirety. Israel’s believing remnant, in the ages to come, speaks to the Lord Jesus Christ as they await His glorious return to bring in God’s literal, physical, visible, earthly, Davidic kingdom. In verse 5, they confess: “…behold, thou art wroth; for we have sinned….” Verses 6 and 7 go on with, “But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away. And there is none that calleth upon thy name, that stirreth up himself to take hold of thee: for thou hast hid thy face from us, and hast consumed us, because of our iniquities.” They have learned the lesson their ancestors had to understand 3,500 years ago in today’s Scripture: the Promised Land will be inherited only because of God’s goodness and faithfulness, not Israel’s goodness or faithfulness.

Verses 8 and 9 continue: “But now, O LORD, thou art our father [Matthew 6:9!]; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand. Be not wroth very sore, O LORD, neither remember iniquity for ever: behold, see, we beseech thee, we are all thy people.” Precisely as the believing remnant recognizes, the wrath and judgment sinful national Israel accumulated under the Law of Moses—the Old Covenant—is deserved and therefore must be brought to pass. However, that believing remnant will survive that wrath and judgment, allowed to enter the subsequent earthly kingdom of God. That kingdom is the ultimate fulfillment of the word the LORD sware to patriarchs Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob (cf. today’s Scripture), something God promised long before the Law system was ever given and long before Israel ever disobeyed that Law system.

May we have the proper perspective of wickedness versus righteousness….

On the one hand, there is “righteousness” or “right standing before God, the condition of justification.” On the other hand, there is “wickedness,” or “the condition of being evil or morally wrong” (interestingly, the root “wicked” is derived from “witch!”). Every human, except the God-Man Jesus Christ, is born in wickedness rather than righteousness.

Ephesians chapter 2 reviews this individual history of believers in Christ: “[1] And you hath he [Father God] quickened [given life to], who were dead in trespasses and sins; [2] Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air [Satan], the spirit [attitude/mentality] that now worketh in the children of disobedience [unbelievers, lost people]: [3] Among whom also we all had our conversation [manner of living] in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.”

“God’s Grace Factory”—as it has been so aptly titled—removed us from such a wretched, wicked position in Adam and placed us into a glorious, righteous position in Christ: “[4] But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, [5] Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved; ) [6] And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: [7] That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. [8] For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: [9] Not of works, lest any man should boast. [10] For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”

This is not our righteousness, but God’s righteousness….

May we have the proper perspective of wickedness versus righteousness….

“Behold, he [God] putteth no trust in his saints; yea, the heavens are not clean in his sight” (Job 15:15). “Behold even to the moon, and it shineth not; yea, the stars are not pure in his sight” (Job 25:5). “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high [heavenly] places” (Ephesians 6:12). The Scriptures declare how Satan has defiled outer space with his plan to “worship and serve the creature more than the Creator” (Romans 1:25). Such polluted Heavenly Places will not be cleansed until the ages to come.

Here is the ultimate removal of evil from the Heavenly Places, which realm we subsequently occupy as members of the Church the Body of Christ: “And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him” (Revelation 12:7-9).

“And [Father God] hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus” (Ephesians 2:6,7). God in His grace wanted to save (rescue, deliver) people from sin, so Christ died for those sins. This bridges the gap between us and God, qualifying us believers to receive “all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ” (Ephesians 1:3).

To repeat, this is not because of our righteousness, but God’s goodness and the fallen angels’ wickedness….

May we have the proper perspective of wickedness versus righteousness….

It was the Gentiles’ wickedness in the land on Earth, not Israel’s righteousness out of the land, that caused Israel to inherit that land; remember, Israel did not naturally have righteousness anyway. In an interesting parallel, it is the angels’ wickedness in the Heavenly Places, not our righteousness on Earth, that results in we (the Church the Body of Christ) inheriting those Heavenly Places; remember, we did not naturally have righteousness either.

Colossians 1:16-20: “For by him [Jesus Christ] were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell; And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.”

Whether Heaven or Earth, creation is currently in rebellion against its Creator. Satan’s sinful plan has been put into effect quite masterfully. So as to bring Earth back to Himself, Father God wisely creates the nation Israel to glorify Jesus Christ in the Earth. From Paul’s ministry, we learn how Father God prudently creates the Church the Body of Christ to glorify Jesus Christ in the Heavenly Places, thus bringing the Heavenly Places back to Himself. In the ages to come, Satan’s work in both realms of creation is overthrown, undone, reversed. For this to be to God’s glory, whether in Heaven or in Earth, it must be God’s righteousness alone and never, ever man’s….

When Messiah Jesus visited Israel in the Promised Land during the time of Matthew to John, He found precious few who had learned the lesson of the Law and were thus willing to confess their sin problem. Instead, Judaism had been transformed—better yet, watered down—into a system of glorified self-righteousness. He therefore cautioned His audience with the following words.

“For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the [self-] righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 5:20). “But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance [change in mind]” (Matthew 9:13). “When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance” (Mark 2:17). “I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance” (Luke 5:32). Scan all these contexts to see “goody-goodies” in the land of Canaan being rebuked. Also, mark well Luke 18:9, a summary of their depraved condition in religion: “And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:….”

“For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God” (Romans 10:3). This was lost Israel’s predicament in Matthew to John, and even into latter Acts when the Apostle Paul wrote those words (see Romans 9:31–10:4). Failing to see their sin problem, they saw no need for the Saviour either. How the unbelievers of today’s world repeat that error of so long ago….

After their victorious and mighty exodus from Egyptian bondage, but just prior to their four decades of wilderness wanderings in unbelief, the Jewish people were warned how they would be forcibly removed from the Promised Land if they repeated the sins the Gentiles had committed in it.

Leviticus chapter 18: “[24] Defile not ye yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations are defiled which I cast out before you: [25] And the land is defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land itself vomiteth out her inhabitants. [26] Ye shall therefore keep my statutes and my judgments, and shall not commit any of these abominations; neither any of your own nation, nor any stranger that sojourneth among you: [27] (For all these abominations have the men of the land done, which were before you, and the land is defiled; ) [28] That the land spue not you out also, when ye defile it, as it spued out the nations that were before you. [29] For whosoever shall commit any of these abominations, even the souls that commit them shall be cut off from among their people. [30] Therefore shall ye keep mine ordinance, that ye commit not any one of these abominable customs, which were committed before you, and that ye defile not yourselves therein: I am the LORD your God.” (For emphasis, chapter 20, verses 22-26, echo this.)

Of course, like the Gentiles, the Jews had Adam as their physical father and Satan as their spiritual father. To see Israel’s sins committed in the Promised Land during the centuries subsequent to Moses, read 2 Kings 17:6-41, 2 Chronicles 36:14-21, Ezra 9:1–10:1, Nehemiah 9:26-38, and Daniel 9:3-19. Just as God assured them, these very sins led to the Jewish people ultimately being exiled from the land, for they had no righteousness….

“Not for thy righteousness, or for the uprightness of thine heart, dost thou go to possess their land: but for the wickedness of these nations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee, and that he may perform the word which the LORD sware unto thy fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob” (Deuteronomy 9:5 KJV).

May we have the proper perspective of wickedness versus righteousness….

Abraham understood that the LORD God would work in His grace to make of his lineage a people whom God would use to serve Him in the Earth. This unconditional contract or agreement is the Abrahamic Covenant: “Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee: And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed” (Genesis 12:1-3). Israel is that “great nation,” which descended from Abraham’s son Isaac, Isaac’s son Jacob, and Jacob’s 12 sons (patriarchs or forefathers of Israel’s 12 tribes). God’s covenant was transferred to each successive generation, as today’s Scripture states.

Of course, like every other sinner, Abraham wanted to “help” God, so he and wife Sarah plotted to produce a son (Ishmael) in Genesis chapter 16. This was human effort, not grace; God’s son for Abraham was Isaac, born many years later (chapter 21). By the time of Moses and Sinai, Israel favored the Law and foolishly entered into that (conditional) Mosaic agreement (Exodus 19:3-8). This religious system was still on the minds of the Israelites of today’s Scripture, and Moses prompted them to recognize how God’s promise of blessings of grace to father Abraham came long before their promise to “do good” and inherit blessings based on their works. If they would receive anything from God, it would be solely because of His faithfulness, not theirs.

Notice! Sinful Israel did not “deserve” the Promised Land any more than the sinful Gentiles whom God was throwing out of it….
