“Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word” (Psalm 119:9 KJV).
If our physical posterity could augment its spiritual dexterity, exactly what would that entail?
The LORD addresses the evil spirit, Satan, operating in the King of Tyrus, in Ezekiel 28:12-15: “…Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty. Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created. Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.”
Lucifer was a spirit-being, a “cherub” or creature in the angelic world, God’s song-leader in creation; his body was endowed with musical instruments itself (“tabrets” [tambourines/drums] and “pipes” [wind instruments]). Lucifer’s job was to use his ingenuity to compose music to worship the Creator God—for that is God’s design in music. “O come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation” (Psalm 95:1). “Sing unto the LORD a new song, and his praise from the end of the earth, ye that go down to the sea, and all that is therein; the isles, and the inhabitants thereof” (Isaiah 42:10). “Sing unto the LORD, praise ye the LORD: for he hath delivered the soul of the poor from the hand of evildoers” (Jeremiah 20:13).
“…When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?” (Job 38:7); the angels sang during the creation week of Genesis chapters 1 and 2. Lucifer was among them. Yet, later, he transformed into Satan (Isaiah 14:12-14) by becoming proud and self-willed, seeking to have creation worship him because he was so wise and so beautiful! Let us understand how the Devil/Satan utilizes music to accomplish some of his greatest work….
