The Spiritual Dexterity of Our Physical Posterity #145

“Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word” (Psalm 119:9 KJV).

If our physical posterity could augment its spiritual dexterity, exactly what would that entail?

“And he set the Levites in the house of the LORD with cymbals, with psalteries, and with harps, according to the commandment of David, and of Gad the king’s seer, and Nathan the prophet: for so was the commandment of the LORD by his prophets. And the Levites stood with the instruments of David, and the priests with the trumpets. And Hezekiah commanded to offer the burnt offering upon the altar. And when the burnt offering began, the song of the LORD began also with the trumpets, and with the instruments ordained by David king of Israel. And all the congregation worshipped, and the singers sang, and the trumpeters sounded: and all this continued until the burnt offering was finished. And when they had made an end of offering, the king and all that were present with him bowed themselves, and worshipped. Moreover Hezekiah the king and the princes commanded the Levites to sing praise unto the LORD with the words of David, and of Asaph the seer [the Book of Psalms!]. And they sang praises with gladness, and they bowed their heads and worshipped” (2 Chronicles 29:25-30).

“And they sang together by course in praising and giving thanks unto the LORD; because he is good, for his mercy endureth for ever toward Israel. And all the people shouted with a great shout, when they praised the LORD, because the foundation of the house of the LORD was laid” (Ezra 3:11). “For in the days of David and Asaph of old there were chief of the singers, and songs of praise and thanksgiving unto God” (Nehemiah 12:46). Glance at Exodus 15:1, Numbers 21:17, Deuteronomy 31:30, Judges 5:1, 1 Samuel 29:5, Nehemiah 12:40-45, and Psalm 106:12. When Israel sang the songs of the LORD, it reinforced doctrine or sound Bible teaching worthy of their faith. Set to music, these words would be more easily committed to memory. Those words God taught them, those connected events they observed Him orchestrate, were always in mind as these songs were sung….
