The Spiritual Dexterity of Our Physical Posterity #132

“Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word” (Psalm 119:9 KJV).

If our physical posterity could augment its spiritual dexterity, exactly what would that entail?

Endeavoring to amplify their allegation that “transubstantiation” occurs with the Roman Catholic Eucharist, works-religionists abscond to John 6:51-56: “I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat? Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.”

As usual, Roman Catholics are unfamiliar with the context (their denominational system ignores the prior 50 verses that obviously refute the tradition!). Read the whole chapter: Christ’s audience prefers to eat physical food than believe on Him (note especially verses 11-15). After witnessing Him miraculously feed the 5,000, they track Him for another free meal (verses 24-28) and remain in unbelief (verses 29,30,36). They grumble once He claims to be from Heaven (verses 41-43). Recognizing their fixation on physical matters rather than spiritual, He answers them in kind to (further) wisely expose their unbelief (verses 52-58). Highlighted are their escalating worldly-mindedness, their (!) “flesh,” their aggressive lack of faith in Him, and their eventual and permanent desertion of Him (verses 64-66).

John 6:35 defines “eating” and “drinking” in that context: “And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.” Such is totally unrelated to the physical supper of believers in Matthew 26:26-29, Mark 14:22-25, Luke 22:17-20, and 1 Corinthians 11:23-25; John 6:53-58 (spoken to unbelievers) never appears in any of these passages. The contexts are different, but that makes no difference to denominationalists who have set their minds on teaching whatever they wish….

Grace and peace! What a privilege to be an ambassador for the risen Christ here on WordPress! I am a Pauline dispensationalist Christian saved by grace through faith in Christ Jesus plus nothing! My goal is to "have all men saved, and come to the knowledge of the truth" (1 Timothy 2:3,4). I seek to preach Jesus Christ crucified for our sins, buried, and raised again for our justification as the only way to salvation. Also, I seek to edify and perfect the saints using dispensational Bible study and the Authorized Version King James Bible!
